Homeowner at 22 and How You Can Do It TOO!!!
Real Estate, Real Estate, Real Estate!
Homeownership is a part of the American Dream. Unfortunately, this dream takes a while to achieve as the average age of the first time home-buyer 31 years old. According to statistics, this number will not decrease, but increase to 34 years of age over the next few years. This is a problem that we must quickly change.
Now is the time to invest in the real estate market, especially if you are in your 20s. If you are renting an apartment that cost 1,000 per month, you will pay approximately $120,000 over 10 years. The $120,000 could easily be yours as it would be equity in the home that you own.
My journey of homeownership first began when I was a freshman at Morehouse College. After arriving in Atlanta, I quickly noticed the high cost to live on campus. Shortly, I started to look for off campus housing. While searching online, I noticed the incredible deals for distressed properties (foreclosure and short sale). I ended up staying on campus the first two-years, as I could not convince my mom to purchase a property. During my junior year, I moved off campus into an apartment. The apartment was much less than the cost to stay on campus, but did not meet my goal of ownership.
Moving into the apartment was the best thing ever. It opened my eyes and made me realize that I do not like to pay rent. Each month, I felt as if I was just giving my hard earned money away. I needed a way to secure financing to purchase a home of my own. A year later, my life completely changed, as I became a REALTOR.
Working as a REALTOR, I was able to discover unique funding solutions. Finally, I was approved for a mortgage. My next stop was to find the perfect home. I searched day and night till I finally stumbled across an amazing foreclosure deal. Now, I am happy to say that I have a home that is much larger than my apartment with a cheaper monthly payment
NOW, is the time is to invest! Do not delay, as the incredible deals will not last much longer. If you need any assistance, whether finding a home or selling your home, feel free to email me at John@SovereignRM.com.
