The Power of Collaboration: Joining the Atlanta Developer Cohort

I’m happy to share that I’ve been selected for the exclusive Developer Cohort for the Center for Community Progress Atlanta. As the CEO of Sovereign Realty and Management, I see this as a powerful opportunity to advance my mission of transforming neighborhoods and creating more inclusive housing opportunities.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that the key to successful development lies in collaboration. The cohort brings together a diverse, dynamic group of professionals from small-scale real estate development firms. I believe that by sharing our expertise and experiences, we can overcome the unique challenges developers of color face and create more equitable communities.

Cohorts like this offer a unique opportunity in the competitive real estate landscape. The access to a network of experts spanning all aspects of development is invaluable. This built-in advisory board will help me refine my strategies, identify new projects, and form powerful partnerships. I’m especially excited about the insights I’ll gain into working with land banks and accessing portfolios of revitalization-focused properties.

If you’re an aspiring developer, seek out cohorts aligned with your goals, but have some experience already under your belt. Be prepared to contribute and share your knowledge. With an open mind and a willingness to think outside the box, the growth opportunities are endless. Initiatives like this are crucial for building the capacity of developers of color and creating more resilient communities.

I’m eager to embark on this journey with my cohort colleagues to transform metro Atlanta’s housing landscape. I’m confident that our collaborative efforts will leave a lasting impact on the region, creating more inclusive, thriving communities. Our work will serve as a model for best practices, informing strategies to support community-focused development nationwide.
